While I was trying to explain a raincoat to Ana, Nathan decided to assist. "It's so you don't get agua'd!"

While at Lily's doctor appointment, Dr.Wen was interviewing Jane on how she liked having a little sister.
Dr.Wen: "Do you like your little sister?"
Jane: "Yeah, she's so cute! I like her soft hair!"
Dr.Wen: "Do you like her ears?"
Jane: "Yeah!"
Dr.Wen: "Do you like her belly button?"
Jane: "NO because belly buttons are grouchy!"

I don't want to forget how completely elated Nathan was to receive a love note from Emily Matich today in the mail. His eyes totally lit up, he gushed how nice/sweet that was of her, and how she had drawn him with a light saber and her with a bucket of love. Then he asked his dad if he could have a flashlight so he could look at the letter all night.

Tonight I mentioned how Lily is learning to fall alseep by herself. Nathan added that it's hard, he's still learning!

Yesterday Nathan was playing with Jane and a play pirate set that Marcus got him from Disneyland. I overheard Nathan say, "You guys are scallywags! Do you know what a scallywag is? It's people like YOU!"

Several times people have been commenting on how sweet and quiet and beautiful Lily is, only for Lily to loudly belch right in the middle. Girl does her mom proud. ;)

First post

Today Nathan prayed for our whole family to be together in Heaven, thanking God for his family and that he wants us to continue to be a good influence on him. What bliss! He wants to be with us for eternity! My heart wants to break from containing all the joy.

One of the favorite things Jane has said to me is "Mommy you are blessed!" It is so true, Marcus and the kids are such blessings that I'm overwhelmed by the enormity of it - that God could love me so much to give them to me is astounding. I can't even fathom how wonderful it will be to be with Him if this is just a shadow of things to come. She has also started calling me "Mommy dearest" which is amazingly humbling. I know that I cannot possibly live up to the term. I hope we are always so endeared to each other.

Lily started laughing today! She was laying on my belly after a little nap on the couch and saw Nathan. She raised her head and laughed! Such a perfect and sweet laugh coming from smiling lips it just knocks you over. You can't breathe for fear the sound might block out any portion of that laugh. I can't wait for more days filled with the laughter. What a blessing to know that this is just the beginning of the rest of her life's worth of laughter - what an honor to have a part in it.

I want to write down the prayers Nathan prayed after we bought our van. He wasn't too keen on it, he wanted to buy a Toyota Sienna from a soldier who lived close to our house. The soldier part was the part that sold him more than the actual van, and any van we looked at couldn't be better than the soldier's Sienna. Well, we bought the Odyssey without his approval. His prayer was "Thank you God for the van, even though I didn't really want it." Later that day he discovered the individual lights and air control and the Sienna was totally in the dust. He prayed "Thank you Lord for the new van, it is very blessful." Indeed.

While I'm at it, I want to write out the prayers of these sweet children before I forget them. They are always the same at their core, additions only made at our requests but they always have this in them...

Nathan: Dear awesome powerful God, we know that you are the true God. Thank you for sending Jesus to die up upon the cross, it was a very nice thing for Him to do. He put others' needs in front of His own. In Jesus' name we pray Amen.

Jane: Thank you for this food, in Jesus' name Amen.

or if we're not eating:

Jane: Thank you for sending Jesus to die upon the cross it was a very nice thing of him to do in Jesus name we pray Amen.

Okay now I must get some sleep so I can enjoy more of these moments tomorrow.
